Gaspar Gorbea is a 2007 OF with a 5'11'', 165 lb. frame from Oceanside, CA, who attends El Camino HS. Lean, wiry, and athletic frame. Defensively he moves very well to the ball in the outfield showing range and reactions. Gorbea shows solid arm strength with solid carry on his throws at 77 mph. He also made some nice plays in center field during game action, and cut off a double down the left field line. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an upright and open stance with a high hand set. He has good bat speed through the hitting zone and takes an aggressive swing. Gorbea doesn't get cheated at the plate with his aggressive approach, but he still has the ability to stay back on off-speed pitches and use the entire field. He has good speed, and is very quick on the bases with good base running instincts.
