2003 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
The 5-8 Engle ranked with the top hitters at the Chapel Hill Showcase. He’s the kind of prospect who if he was 6-2 would rank among the top hitters in the country. During batting practice he tattooed the right field fence, but when faced with game pitching, he stayed inside the ball drove a couple of balls off the left centerfield fence. Engle has a well developed upper body and an aggressive, powerful cut from the left side that can handle top level pitching. He has the speed to play outfield at the next level and may be eventually moved to left. His arm plays and the bat shines! Chris is a very good student also.
