Kevin Duncan is a 2008 RHP/3B with a 6'2'', 200 lb. frame from Shawnee KS, who attends Shawnee Mission North HS. He has a low waist with slopping shoulders and room to get stronger. Duncan throws from a tall delivery with a simple turn and throw approach. He is long and flat with his arm action in back, which leads to a mid 3/4's extended release out front. His arm works well and he has nice arm speed and a consistent release point. Duncan's fastball was 83-86 mph and his best velocity fastballs were at the end as he was getting the loosest. His fastball gets big, early flat running action from his release point. His best off speed pitch was a 77 mph split grip change up that he maintained full arm speed on. His slurve type curveball had a short 10/4 type of break. Duncan threw strikes with all his pitches and will improve as he continues to learn to pitch to corners and spots. Duncan is also a third baseman who shows some raw power and strength with the bat, especially when he's able to keep his hands back on the ball. Duncan is an excellent student.
