Ryan Salvino is a 2008 RHP/IF with a 6'2'', 180 lb. frame from Burr Ridge IL, who attends Nazareth Academy. Salvino has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Salvino pitches from an over the top slot with a long loose arm action. He uses a two-piece arm action and delivery. Salvino has arm speed and gets extension out front in his finish. He throws lots of strikes and gets life on his fastball, especially when it's located down in the zone. Salvino throws a 2 seam fastball that gets sink and occasional armside run. He also throws a 12/6 curveball that gets big break on it. Salvino pitches to contact and is a ground ball pitcher. He has some projectable velocity and is an interesting follow on the mound. At the plate, Salvino starts with a square stance and starts his swing with a late trigger. He is also a very good student.
