Andrew Palmer is a 2008 1B/OF/C with a 6'3'', 190 lb. frame from Alpharetta, Georgia, who attends Alpharetta High School. He has an extra large and athletic frame with present strength. Palmer showed good actions defensively, and has solid arm strength behind the plate. He receives well with good hands. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a closed stance with a wider than average base. Palmer uses a no stride approach that helps keep him balanced through his swing. He has solid bat speed through the hitting zone with a line drive swing plane. Palmer has good hands and can make adjustments with his swing. He has a tendency to get under the ball, but all of the pieces are there for him to be a productive hitter at the next level. He is also a patient hitter with a good awareness of the strike zone. He is a good student as well.
