Lance Martin is a 2008 OF/C/2B with a 5'8'', 175 lb. frame from Alpharetta GA, who attends Milton. Named to Top Prospect Team. Martin has a compact body with a strong build. Defensively, Martin has arm strength with some carry on his throws from the outfield. He has solid outfield actions and moves to the ball athletically. He is a very good runner (6.72) which transfers over to his range in the outfield. At the plate, Martin starts with an open stance and gets closed well at load. He has a simple swing and keeps it short through the hitting zone. Martin makes consistent line drive contact and has leverage at contact. He showed a good ability to spray the ball to all fields and his hands work well in his swing. Martin has good hand eye coordination as he centers the ball up very well on a consistent basis. He uses his speed to his advantage on the basepaths and is very aggressive. Martin has good tools to build upon and is an excellent student.
