Dean Larson is a 2007 2B/OF/IF with a 5'10'', 165 lb. frame from North Little Rock AR, who attends North Little Rock HS. He has a medium frame with developing strength. Larson has very good swing fundamentals with the bat. He has solid balance and showed the ability to square up consistently on balls and hit them hard to all fields. He has a line drive swing plane and showed that he could get the up the gaps on the right pitch. Larson was a bit slow getting the bat started against the higher velocity pitching but that might be a result of not seeing that type of pitching often enough. Larson is using his physical tools well as a hitter and should continue to improve as he gets stronger. Defensively, Larson was a clean fielder with soft hands and good balance on balls hit at him. He will need to work on his lateral range as the game gets faster. He ran the 60 in 7.44.
