Jay Shaw is a 2010 RHP with a 5'11'', 190 lb. frame from Phenix City, AL who attends Russell County HS. Strong framed athlete. Rock back delivery, good balance to delivery, good arm action, finishes clean. Only mid 80's this outing, but he has been higher, pitched backwards with quality secondary pitches, big breaking CB with 10/4 shape, advanced change up used with confidence, hard late sink, plus change at times. Also can hit. Good three pitch guy. Good student, verbal to Alabama.

Jay Shaw is a 2010 RHP/3B with a 5'10'', 160 lb. frame from Phenix City AL, who attends Russell County HS. Named to Top Prospect Team. Shaw has a medium sized frame with an athletic build. Shaw pitches from an 3/4 arm slot with a nice arm action. He has some arm speed and throws uphill some. Shaw has good command of the strike zone, especially with his fastball. His mechanics are a bit jerky and could be smoothed out some to help him repeat his delivery better. He throws an 11/5 curveball which has ok spin. Shaw throws a slider that has the potential to be a good strikeout pitch. At the plate, Shaw starts with a closed stance and swings from a crouch. He swings on a line drive path and generates some bat speed. He steps out some in his swing to get his bat through the zone. Defensively, Sahw has a quick release with solid arm strength. He has good hands and has a solid idea how to play defense. Shaw is a good young follow.

Jay Shaw is a 2010 RHP/3B with a 6'0'', 159 lb. frame from Phenix City, AL, who attends Russell County HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team. Shaw is a young prospect with advanced skills and maturity. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a high leg kick. Shaw has good arm speed and his arm works with a very short arm circle. He is quick to the plate in his delivery rushing past his balance point, but he still produces a 78 mph fastball with arm side life. He also mixed in a 10/4 rolling curveball at 68 mph. At the plate he is a line drive hitter with solid bat speed. Shaw has some pop in his bat, and he stays balanced throughout. Defensively he has solid actions at third base staying low through the ball. He has an accurate arm on his throws across the diamond. Shaw has upside and should be followed.
