Michael Rizzo is a 2008 RHP/3B with a 6'2'', 175 lb. frame from Northbrook IL, who attends Glenbrook North. Rizzo has a long lanky body with a thin lean build. Rizzo pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. He has a loose arm action and pitches to contact well. Rizzo throws a 10/4 curveball for strikes and it has solid break to it. Rizzo should get a lot of ground balls as he learns to consistently work down in the zone with both of his pitches. At the plate, Rizzo starts from a crouched stance with high hands. He takes a long stride to start his swing and is upright at contact. He pulls of slightly and has present line drive pop. Defensively, Rizzo throws with a long loose arm action across the infield and has nice hands at 3B. He reads hops fairly well and is somewhat stiff when fielding the ball. He his a very good student.
