Bryce Lane is a 2008 RHP/C with a 6'0'', 155 lb. frame from Phenix City AL, who attends Russell County HS. He has a young body and lean frame with plenty of growth potential. Lane has a high energy delivery and appears to jump at the hitters a bit during his delivery, creating some deception. Lane's arm works well and his fastball was 83-86 mph with a bit of running action. His best pitch at times was a 75 mph change up that had plus live and good arm speed. His 71 mph curveball flashed good spin as well but wasn't as consistent as his change up. Lane worked quickly and did a nice job throwing strikes. He projects very well with his young body and loose arm. Lane also showed some prospect ability with the bat. He has good balance in the box and a short, tension free swing with the beginnings of some bat speed. He made solid middle of the field contact and should keep improving as he gets stronger. Lane is a very good student.
