Shane Kitagawa is a 2008 MIF/OF with a 5'6'', 130 lb. frame from San Mateo, California, who attends Hillsdale High School. Kitagawa has a lean frame with an athletic look. Defensively he has nice footwork that allows him to get in the proper fielding position. He also has range. Kitagawa has soft hands, and he has a nice back hand. He just makes the plays, and he works hard defensively. At the plate he hits from a wider bases with a short stride. He centers everything. Kitagawa shows bat speed, and he is a line drive hitter. He stays inside the ball well making good contact to all fields. He has nice swing mechanics. Once on the bases, he shows quickness and instincts. He has good upside and will continue to improve as he matures. He is a good student as well.
