Jacob Tillotson is a 2010 SS/P with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame from Lake City, FL who attends Columbia HS. Medium athletic frame, some present strength. Sound athletic defensive actions, polished footwork, looked good at both SS/2B, strong arm, makes all the plays. Switch-hitter, open crouched approach, busy hands, better bat speed left handed, needs to smooth out approach from right side, 7.02 runner. He can really play and the arm stands out. Could tear it up at the next level. Very good student, verbal to Florida.

Polished shortstop, excellent arm strength, very good accuracy, smooth actions, instincts to the ball, upper level defender. Switch hitter, smooth swing with good coil/balance LHH'd, tends to drift in, become front side hitter RH'd, better bat speed LH'd but legit both ways, shows patience/confidence hitting. Upper level prospect with USA National Youth Team experience. Good student, verbal commitment to Florida.

Jacob Tillotson is a 2010 SS/RHP with a 5'11'', 176 lb. frame from Lake City, FL who attends Columbia/Home school. He has already verbally commited to the U of Florida. Tillotson has been on the scouting radar for a few years already. We have seen him pitch in the low 90s, but he was 87-88 in LA. He looked very good playing the middle infield and at the plate where he switch hits. He will probably pitch and do well in college, but he will probably be a better pro prospect as a position player. Then again the arm does stand out.

Jacob Tillotson is a 2010 SS/P with a 5'10'', 175 lb. frame from Lake City FL, who attends Columbia HS. He has a mature, athletic build with good present strength. Tillotson was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. He can pretty much do everything on the baseball field right now and it's easy to forget that he's a 2010 player. Tillotson is a switch hitting shortstop who has the defensive skills to remain in the middle of the field. He has tons of arm strength and quick, sure hands. Tillotson runs well at 6.97/4.32 and most young players get faster from when they are Tillotson's age. Offensively, Tillotson has very good bat speed from both sides of the plate. He's a bit quicker with a more line drive swing from the right side, with more length and lift from the left side. He's a true switch-hitter, though. On the mound, Tillotson has a quick, easy arm action and topped out at 90 mph with a sharp 72 mph curveball. He has excellent presence on the mound, throws strikes and knows what he's doing. Tillotson reminds us of 2007 top prospect John Tolisano in a lot of ways, with the 90 mph fastball thrown in as an extra on top. It's hard to project Tillotson too much but even if he just gets better/stronger in small bits over the next few years, his talent/skill plateau is so high now for a 2010 that every increment is big in proportion.
