Matthew Baran is a 2007 RHP/OF with a 6'2'', 180 lb. frame from Jupiter FL, who attends Palm Beach Gardens. Matthew has a good body with an athletic build. Matthew pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. Matthew has good arm speed and has good command of both pitches. He has good arm side run on his fastball and throws a solid curveball. Matthew is efficient with pitches and gets hitters out. At the plate he starts with a tall stance and has good balance through his swing. Matthew has a gap to gap approach and gets good extension in his swing. He is a good low ball hitter with good power to right center field. Matthew was named to the Top Prospect Team and is a very good student.
