2022 Hawaii Workout Showcase (Aug. 10)
Lono Jurgenson is a 2027 2B/RHP/IF with a 5-0 95 lb. frame from Kailua, HI who attends Punahou. Smaller young build. 8.44 runner in the sixty. Primary second baseman on defense, has good footwork and works low and behind the ball well, has fast hands fielding and in his exchange/release, can throw from different arm slots accurately, has some actions defensively to develop. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow open stance with a short on line stride into contact, swings hard and has some feel for the barrel, good swing base to grow from. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a compact delivery and a short and clean arm stroke, over the top arm slot. Fastball worked in the mid-60's, spotted the pitch very consistently to the glove side for strikes. Landed a soft curveball well and also showed a fading change up. Good student.
