Ethan Nguyen is a 2027 C/RHP, SS, MIF with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Mercer Island, WA who attends Mercer Island. Features a medium-sized frame with flashes of strength and athleticism. Ran a 7.36 60-yd dash. In the INF, showed proper defensive actions. Gets his body into good posture, getting low and displaying an early/out-front glove fielding it clean at reception. Foot quickness was avg. but got to his spots in time. Used a shorter arm action that got off accurate throws with flashes of above avg. strength up to 76 mph. Corner projection. Behind the plate, exhibited solid catch throw ability. Exchange was compact where his arm also played. Avg. quickness out the crouch but gains ground and sets good direction towards second. At the plate, he sits in a taller stance with higher set hands. Uses a smaller leg lift trigger as his hands pop back getting the barrel into a good launch position. Turns a fast barrel with above avg. bat speed through the zone. Gets good length through contact and showed a strong lower half. Post impact results were good spreading hard liners to all fields. On the mound, he side steps into a mid-chest knee lift. More tall/fall type tendencies but lands in-line. Arm works longer out the glove with some inconsistent timing in working up to release. Slots it at a higher ¾. Fastball worked up to 74 and he mixed in a lower 60s developing breaking ball.
