Colin Townsend is a 2028 C/RHP/IF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Bettendorf, IA who attends Pleasant Valley. Medium athletic build with the beginnings of some present strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a simple stride into contact, gets his hips turned well in his swing, pull line drive approach with some young jump off the barrel, has some projection as a hitter as he continues to get stronger. 7.40 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, that starts with a high set up. He has a quick feet and stands on his throws. Staying low and driving through second base will help him improve on his already impressive 2.15 second pop time. Secondary right-handed pitcher that uses a short and compact arm action. He does a nice job of working in line with the plate and attacks the zone with all of his pitches. His fastball showed nice life through the zone. His curve has 12-6 shape with nice sharpmenss to it. His changeup flashed fade and has plenty of velocity difference between his other pitches. Also worked out in the infield, showing smooth footwork and the ability to move to both sides of his body efficiently. Excellent student.
