Connor Johnson is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Kirkland, WA who attends Lake Washington HS. Medium athletic build, broad shoulders, some present strength with more to come. Has good hip coil in his delivery, hides the ball well and has some deception, high 3/4's arm slot, has some energy at release. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, mostly straight. Nice slider at his lower velocity marks, will get good bite and vertical depth at 71-73 mph, will tend to overthrow the slider at times and throw through the break. Shows good fading action on his change up. Athletic off the mound and fields his position well. Good two-way prospect in the outfield. 7.03 runner, athletic actions through the ball with good footwork and fundamentals, good arm strength with carry on his throws. Right handed hitter, rotational swing with good hip use, creates bat speed in a long and loose swing, shows gap power and the ability to drive the ball. May have a higher ceiling as an outfielder as his strength develops. Good student.
