Blake Durrence is a 2016 RHP/1B with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Glennville, GA who attends Tattnall County HS. Strong broad shouldered athletic build. High leg raise delivery, could get his strong hips turned a bit more, compact arm action that hides the ball well, 3/4's arm slot, low effort easy release out front, repeats his mechanics well and works downhill. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, worked mid-80's consistently, keeps the ball down in the zone well with good life. Short slurve type breaking ball with good 2-plane shape at times. Change up has good life and consistent release but will slow at times. Has an idea how to pitch and competes well. Has picked up 5 mph since October, keep a close eye on for continued improvement. Excellent student. Named to the Showcase All Prospect Team.
