Chris Diehl is a 2016 C with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Fort Collins, CO who attends Rocky Mountain HS. Medium athletic build with good present strength. Very sound defensive catcher with tools, gets a low set behind the plate and has good lateral quickness, has plus footwork fundamentals and gets rid of the ball quickly with very good accuracy, 1.92 best pop time, shows leadership skills in the game and takes charge, showed a nice feel for calling pitches and pitch sequencing as well. Really stood out defensively in this event. Right handed hitter, short swing from an early load, inside path, has strength to create bat speed and drive the ball but approach limits that at present, needs to let the barrel fly and use his strength, should improve with adjustments.
