2018 PG Underclass All American Games
Grant Trinkle is a 2020 OF/MIF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Columbus, IN who attends Columbus North HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders; fast-twitch muscle with strength throughout frame, additional room to fill. Excellent runner and posted a 6.45 earlier in summer at Junior National. Speed plays in the outfield, moves well on feet and works behind the ball well, fields out front, some effort at release but generates nice carry with accuracy on throws and shows present arm strength, can continue to incorporate additional lower half into release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Loads weight onto back side, shifts weight with balance and repeats timing and mechanics very well. Quickness to hands and stays short and direct with swing path with occasional lift at point of contact. Remains compact through the ball and shows ability to drive it with extension out front, hard line drive contact to pull side and replicated swing in live action. Very good student. Named to PG Underclass Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Kentucky.
