Ty Shelton is a 2023 LHP/OF with a 5-9 142 lb. frame from Perry, GA who attends Westfield Academy. Compact and young frame with room to add strength throughout. Ran a 7.52 second 60 yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, compact delivery and he pitches exclusively out of the stretch, short arm action at take back up to a 3/4 arm slot release, good tempo on the mound with a low effort motion, ball comes out cleanly. Fastball topped out at 77 mph with frequent armside run to the pitch, changeup was used often with short cutting action, lands the fastball and changeup to the glove side of the plate, curveball has 1-7 shape and can land as well, projectable three pitch mixture. Secondary outfielder, moves to the baseball with athletic footwork, shows carry and accuracy to his throws up to 80 mph. Right-handed hitter, sets up at the plate with an open stance, hands dip into contact, full swing path with barrel tilt through the zone, young strength now, will improve pop as he matures physically.
