Behind the plate, Lola has a solid glove and frames well. She is mobile and reacts well to errant pitches. Her communication with her pitchers is a big plus. She shows great leadership skills and has a confident presence. Her transfers are quick and efficient in her throw downs and she fully has the capability to throw runners out as long as she keeps those throws on line. She has huge potential to be a big contributor behind the plate at the next level.
Offensively, Hawkins is a right-handed hitter who has all the tools to succeed at the next level. She is a strong athlete and has an athletic stance. She goes to a balanced toe touch, giving her good separation and allows her to be patient to track the pitch and speed. She fires her back side well against great front side resistance, generating good barrel whip. She did a great job driving the ball up the middle, keeping her barrel behind the ball rather than around it. We see her impacting a lineup positively in the college game in the future.
