Nathan Malone is a 2028 OF/IF with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Salem, AL who attends Smiths Station. Medium athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build with present quick-twitch muscle throughout. Ran a 6.90 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, sound glove actions on the approach and fields it cleanly, athleticism plays in actions, quickness to short arm stroke and shows plenty of strength and carry to the intended base with one hop accuracy. Clean footwork in the dirt, tends to get upright into release but shows softness to hands with a quick release. Right-handed hitter, begins with a narrow, slightly open stance and utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing moving into contact. Fast hands and able to whip the barrel well through the zone, consistently squared up contact and found a couple loud barrels in live action to the pull side gap. Incorporates lower half well into swing and shows big intent in the box, tight turn through the zone with comfort working to the middle/pull side parts of the field.
