LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2022 PG Softball Winter Scouting Combine - Iowa
Aubrey Hesler is a 5-foot-8, class of 2026 RHP/1B from Burlington, IA who attends West Burlington HS. Aubrey is a strong and athletic, up-and-coming player who shows promising ability at more than one position. In addition to her emerging ability on the diamond, Aubrey is also an exemplary student in the classroom. She ran a 6.61 40-yard dash and turned in a 5.42 time from HP to 1B. She also posted a 4'5 1/2 standing broad jump. A primary RHP, Aubrey has a repeatable arm operation that allows her to consistently throw strikes with her five-pitch mix. She works off her well-commanded fastball. Her change is deceptive and is a great compliment to her FB. She keeps her change in the lower half of the zone. Her rise is a work in progress, but the spin and operation are solid and should allow her up ball to be a go-to pitch as she matures. Her best secondary offerings right now are her drop and drop-curve. Both pitches are thrown with conviction and show excellent spin and movement. Aubrey also took a turn at 1B. She has quick feet and positions well. She fields with confidence and het 47-mph throws are routinely accurate. At the plate, Aubrey can handle the bat in the short game. She starts in an open stance and closes to a load that allows her to trigger with force. She has some steepness in her swing plane but does get her bat to contact with fairly routine effort. When on time and on path, she can impact the ball. She did flash some natural raw power that should continue to improve. Aubrey has a promising skill set. With continued attention to detail, physical maturity, and added strength and agility, her game should really take off. She definitely should have the opportunity to progress to the next level as her career continues. Big upside promise!
