Kanyon Williams (2026 RHP, Powderly, TX) brings some deception to the mound with his delivery using his length well to create extension to the plate. The fastball lived in the low 80’s topping out at 83 mph with arm side run and flashes of heavier sinking action. He also mixed in an upper 60’s breaking ball with two plane shape.
Jackson Papenfus (2025 RHP, Parker, TX) got the start in game one for the White team showcasing a live arm with solid upside to project on long term. He ran the fastball up to 88 mph in the early going while living in the mid 80’s over multiple innings. He also showed a low 70’s curveball with depth that he could use landing mostly to the glove side of the plate.
Romel Garcia (2024 3B, Grand Prairie, TX) opened up the scoring with his first at bat driving in a pair of runs in the second inning. His offensive performance in game followed up a strong showing in batting practice where he showed much of the same with good torque to the swing and an ability to get the bat head out front.
Diego Hernandez (2026 OF, Fort Worth, TX) picked up two hits in his first two at bats of game action. He did a nice job of being ready to go early in counts and jumping on hittable fastballs up in the count. Both of his hits came to the pull side with a single in his first at bat and an RBI double his next time up on a ball that stuck inside the left field foul line and tucked into the corner for extra bases.
Alexander Ochranek (2027 C, Southlake, TX) showcased some hit ability in game action going two-for-two in his first two at bats with a hit each way. He got his day started with a line drive the other way doing a nice job of staying out over the plate to go the other way. He followed that up with a pull side knock in his next at bat.
Denver Gillin (2025 OF, Cedar Hill, TX) carried over a strong batting practice performance with a loud barrel in his first at bat in game. He uses his strength well providing a strong punch at the point of contact as he got the barrel head out front and drove a ball through the left center field gap for a triple and was able to come around to score the Navy teams first run of the game.
Barr: Alex Barr (2026 C, Dallas, TX) action today when he drove a fastball to deep center field for extra bases. The sophomore backstop did a nice job of matching plane and getting extended through the baseball as he burned the center fielder and cruised into second with a double to lead off the inning.
Luke Nogalski (2025 SS, Austin, TX) drew some eyes with his swing in game one of the day for the Navy team. The junior shortstop showcased the complete skill set as he split the gap with easy driving the ball to the wall in left center field and motored into third base with a triple showing off his above average speed.
Tanner Crispin (2024 RHP, Dallas, TX) showed a lot to like on the mound with a live arm and feel for a two pitch mix. The fastball sat in the mid 80’s touching 88 mph multiple times. He showed a slider as his primary off speed with solid horizontal bite to it while matching arm speed in the upper 70’s.
Ethan Reitz (2026 LHP, Euless, TX) gave up just one inning over his three innings of work. He did a nice job of creating angle to the plate and allowing the upper 70’s fastball to play up and create some tardy swings. He also landed a quality breaking ball off it with solid depth keeping hitters honest.
Gentry McGinnis (2026 2B, Wimberley, TX) poked a double the other way. He did a nice job covering the whole plate and going with the pitch. He showed some strength in the hands controlling the barrel allowing him to keep the ball fair for extra bases.
