2014 Top Prospects

Jonathan Rivera  C - 2014 - Carolina, PR
Uncommitted

Rivera is a 2014 prospect who has never been to a PG event before. He's very athletic, including running a 6.9 sixty, and has an absolute hose behind the plate, throwing 1.88 in drills with 83 mph velocity. He didn't pitch at the event but that would be interesting to see how he does on the mound.

2015 Top Prospects

Alexis Omar Diaz  RHP - 2015 - Naguabo, PR
Uncommitted

Diaz topped out at 75 mph in his first Caribbean Showcase two years ago. Now he's topping out at 90 mph with an upper 70's sharp biting slider. He's also improved his command, endurance and mound presence tremendously over the past year.

Michael Rivera  RHP - 2015 - Trujillo Alto, PR
Alabama State

This was the best we've seen Rivera throw among the 14 Perfect Game events he's took the mound. His command of an 88-90 mph fastball was outstanding as he pounded the bottom of the strike zone on both sides of the plate. His mid-70's curveball was an out pitch, too.

Reynaldo Rivera  OF - 2015 - Toa Alta, PR
Mississippi State/Chipola College

Rivera has an XXL build that resembles top Yankees prospect Aaron Judge. His swing from the left side is extremely simple and direct and his strength enables him to generate top level power, especially to the middle of the field. Rivera was also up to 89 mph from a straight over the top slot on the mound.

Raymond Ramos  RHP - 2015 - Vega Alta, PR
Uncommitted

Ramos completed dominated during his four innings on the mound, striking out 10 of the 12 hitters he faced. He throws from a low 3/4's to side arm release point but was steady at 86-89 mph with the ability to spin and spot the ball. His arm works at that release point and the stuff was nasty at times.

Orley Arellano  OF - 2015 - Manati, PR
University of the Cumberlands/Broward CC

Arellano isn't the most physical of prospects at 5-foot-9, 165-pounds but he had some of the best raw bat speed at the showcase, generated from a polished, aggressive approach. He also ran 6.9 and threw up to 86 mph from the left side on the mound.

Nestor Muriel Allende  OF - 2015 - Carolina, PR
Eastern Florida State

Muriel is a very good present athlete with lots of physical projection still to come. He's a top level defensive outfielder with 6.7 speed and a plus throwing arm and has plenty of bat speed and power potential as a right handed hitter

Gabriel Cancel  SS - 2015 - Arecibo, PR
Uncommitted

Cancel catches one's eye with his loose and projectable 6-foot-1, 180-pound build and his graceful and athletic middle infield actions. He has a quick right handed swing and handled the barrel very well in games while flashing some power potential.

Kevin Santiago  SS - 2015 - Patillas, PR
Miami-Dade College

Santiago is an athletic shortstop with tools on both sides of the ball. He is a switch-hitter with very good bat speed, especially from the right side.

Bryan Torres  OF - 2015 - Caguas, PR
Uncommitted

This was Torres' first PG showcase and he impressed in many ways, none more than with his big left handed bat speed. He also ran a 6.8 and threw 90 mph from the outfield.

Kevin Edgardo Rivera Rodríguez  1B - 2015 - Cayey, PR
Miami-Dade College

Rivera's best tool is his bat. He's undersized for a first baseman at 5-foot-11, 180-pounds but has a simple, strong approach from the right side and has the ability to drive the ball hard to the pull side.

Miguel Caceres  C - 2015 - Punta Santiago, PR
Uncommitted

Do not judge Caceres by his 5-foot-6, 145-pound build. He's a bundle of high energy, quick twitch actions and athleticism who stood out on both sides of the ball and especially defensively. He gets after it.

Joshua Crispin  MIF - 2015 - Bayamon, PR
Lincoln Trail College

Crispin has very good raw athletic tools and has the ability to play both outfield and infield at a high level. He has whippy bat speed and lots of power potential at the plate.

Kenneth Bautista  OF - 2015 - Carolina, PR
Uncommitted

Baustista has a body resembling top 2015 prospects Tyler Williams and Demi Oromoloye and has some of their coltish actions as well. Most importantly, he has the power potential that those two players also display.

Jean Carlos Rosario  3B - 2015 - Manati, PR
North Central Texas College

Rosario has a projectable 6-foot-1, 180-pound build that has present strength with more to come. His best tool is his whippy bat speed from the right side of the plate.

Edwin Muniz  C - 2015 - Palm Bay, FL
Bethune-Cookman

Muniz attends high school in Florida and has a scholarship to Bethune-Cookman. He was solid on all sides of the ball, showing good tools defensively, running a 6.7 sixty and showing good right handed power at the plate.

Christian Sanjurjo  SS - 2015 - Caguas, PR
Uncommitted

Sanjurjo has a nice complete set of tools, including 6.8 speed, balanced infield actions and a strong arm that registered 88 mph during infield drills. He's loose and athletic and should continue to improve with additional strength.

Carlos JJ Viera  MIF - 2015 - Sábana Hoyos, PR
Uncommitted

Viera has whippy bat speed from the right side and showed the ability to drive and lift the ball. He's a 6.7 runner who profiles best at second base in the future.

Abner Vincenty  OF - 2015 - Cabo Rojo, PR
Uncommitted

The left handed hitting Vincenty was the hitting star of the games, going a perfect 5-5 with five consecutive hard line drive hits to mid field and the pull side. He was in the hitter's zone every at bat.

Marcos Santa  IF - 2015 - Yabucoa, PR
Uncommitted

Santa is a nice all around player with two way potential. He had very nice left side infield defensive actions with a strong arm across the diamond. He also threw up to 86 mph from the mound with a good curveball.

Luis Quinones  RHP - 2015 - Arecibo, PR
Uncommitted

Quinones was up to 87 mph with his fastball to go with a 70 mph curveball. He has a polished approach on the mound and pounded the strike zone for four innings while maintaining his stuff well.

Free Agents Top Prospects

Francisco Urbaez  SS - Free Agents - Santo Domingo, DOM DOM

Urbaez graded out solidly across the board, with 7.0 running speed, good infield arm strength and actions and a quick right handed swing. His game approach at the plate stood out and he showed his ability to drive the ball against live pitching.
