Nick Newburn is a 2025 RHP with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from McLean, VA who attends Langley. Long and lanky frame with a high waist and plenty of room to fill out and add strength. Primary right-handed pitcher who only pitched during the event. Worked exclusively from the stretch and worked with a very quick pace. Leg lift up to the belt with a full, offline arm swing. Falls off toward first base side of the rubber. Fastball showed some good carry at times and he had best command of the pitch when working to the arm side. Can move the ball to both halves of the plate. Good feel for changeup with some fading action to it and got swings-and-misses versus left-handed hitters. Breaking ball showed 11/5 shape in the low-70s and can tunnel to the glove side part of the plate. Also mixed in slider with more horizontal action to it. Solid mix with substantial projection and good feel for strike throwing. Tremendous student.
