Fielding
- OF - Developing actions in the OF. Low to the ground to start and works with some quality quickness into reception but longer exchange with a glove tap hurts quickness in getting to throws. Arm action was shorter and stiff. Set up uphill shoulders for higher arcing throws that were 3-4 hop accurate exhibiting below avg. strength for his level. I would lengthen out the arm action a bit to try to get more on throws. I would also focus on the exchange in terms of getting the ball out the glove as fast as possible without needing an extra shuffle or glove tap.
- INF - Hesitant/unsure actions in the INF where he let the ball come to him and sort of dropped into fielding position. Fielded 4/5 GBs clean but with minimal momentum or ground gained fielding mostly flat footed. Can be considerably more aggressive with the initial approach here. Glove tap shows up here as well which hurts the quickness to release. Glove should be set down early where the hands work from the ground up to funnel instead of other way around. Can lengthen out the arm action here as well to gain more on throws.
Hitting
- Open stance that works into a pretty rushed load into launch. Simple lower half move. Hands load high and get the barrel into a slight tip. Showed some variation to the swing path sometimes working more steep and other times flatter. There is some cut off and pull out with the front side seen with the head movement at times. Displayed avg. bat/hand speed for level. Inconsistent timing I believe due to the rushed trigger. Produced a couple quality pullside barrels.
- Needs to slow down the load/trigger to better recognize and possibly get into some better hitting positions at launch. I would get the barrel into a slight different barrel position as the tip means the barrel needs to go a longer distance to then get to contact. I would also maybe use a cue of staying more sideways in the swing to stop the early rotation/pull-out.
