Chase Young is a 2025 C/RHP, IF, OF with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Oak Ridge, NC who attends Northwest Guilford. He ran a 7.78 second sixty. A primary catcher with a lean medium build. He starts with a square stance behind the plate reaching for the ball while he receives it, works around the ball while gaining ground into his throws with developing arm strength recording a 2.26 second pop time. In the outfield he works aggressively through the ball fielding the ball out front, showed accurate throws from a short arm action working to a high three-quarters release on his accurate throws. On the mound the sat 67-70 mph with his fastball from a high three-quarters arm slot, he starts his delivery with a side step into a belt high leg lift, does a nice job getting his lower half involved with drop and drive actions down the mound, his curveball showed some depth with limited extension in the low 50's. At the plate, his righthanded swing starts with a slightly open stance, he showed a steep bat path entering the zone with feel for the barrel working back up the middle at his best.
