Myles Spilkevitz is a 2025 SS/RHP, C, IF with a 5-9 135 lb. frame from Plainview, NY who attends Plainview-Old Bethpage/Jfk. Recorded a 8.80 second sixty-yard dash time. Long, lean frame with a high waist and plenty of room to fill out. Primary shortstop that incorporates anticipatory actions into the fielding process, while exhibiting clean glove work out in front and developing lateral range. Recorded arm strength up to 63 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch. Compact delivery with belt high leg lift into balance, shorter stride out to foot strike and a fairly clean arm stroke on the backside. Fastball worked in the upper-50s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 61 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Proficient strike thrower that works off his fastball, pitches to contact effectively and mixed in a slower breaking ball that varied in shape to disrupt hitters timing. Plenty of time to add velocity as he continues to mature, which will aide in his development moving forward. Took part in the catchers portion of the defensive workout as well, where he showed a developing catch-and-throw skill set with a quick release and some accuracy on his throws. Lastly, he worked out with the first baseman, where he showed soft hands to field and solid footwork on his turns. Recorded arm strength up to 59 mph across during first baseman drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from an open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and hover trigger for timing. Incorporates rotational lower half mechanics to get his swing going, while imploring an upward, lofted swing plane and developing bat-to-ball skills. Mostly pull-side contact when on-time. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Good Student.
