Jean Cartagena Rivera is a 2025 C with a 6-2 230 lb. frame from Cidra, PR who attends BYOU Academy. Recorded a 7.76 60-yard dash. Primary catcher with a strong and physical frame. Uses a compact arm action and showed deliberate actions behind the plate. Solid accuracy down to second and recorded a pop time of 1.97 in workouts. Right-handed hitter and starts from a wide base. Creates leverage well and bat stays on an uphill path through the zone. Strength is evident at contact and recorded an exit velocity of 91 mph. Lifted the ball with authority. Right-handed pitcher and begins delivery with a leg lift to chest level. Slower paced operation and lands on line. Higher slot and fastball topped at 80 mph. Uses a short arm action and changed speeds often. Great student. Named to the 2024 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
