Late Championship win for IA Spring League Black

Cole McDonald (2015; New Hampton, IA) went the distance for Iowa Spring League Black in the 2014 PG Super25 Central Regional (Upperclass) Championship game with seven Ks, three walks, and only one hit. The University of Iowa commit's performance helped get Spring League Black the 2-1 victory over Rawlings Hitters National Baseball Club 2015, averaged 84 mph and touched 87.
Rawlings took an early lead in the top of the third thanks to John Stiever's (2015; Cedarburg, WI) score on a passed ball. Alex Muhlenburg (2015; Roland-Story, IA) of Spring League Black scored after tagging up on a fly-out by Parker Schutt (2015; Dallas Center-Grimes Community, IA). The game remained tied until the bottom of the seventh when Trey Beckman (2015; Prairie, IA), a Nebraska commit, hit a line drive single to left field and sent home Schutt.
Nickolas Lackney (2015; Whitefish Bay, WI) pitched the full game for Rawlings with eight Ks, four walks, and six hits.
