Cody Gunter
3B - 2012 - Flower Mound, TX
Kansas State
The 6-3, 195 lb Texas native was the top hitting prospect at the showcase. His left handed swing was smooth and fast and he stays on the plane of the ball a long time, resulting in consistent hard line drive contact. His defensive tools are strong either at third base or in corner outfield position but his bat will carry him.
Austin Listi
MIF - 2012 - Huffman, TX
Dallas Baptist
Listi has prospect tools and actions both in the middle infield and in the outfield, with his excellent arm strength being his biggest asset. He's a 7.02 runner who has power in his swing that should keep developing.
Hayden Summers
OF - 2012 - Nacogdoches, TX
Uncommitted
Summers has plenty of room to add strength to his 6-1, 170 lb frame and he already has very good bat speed, with some lift and extension at contact that promises more power with the strength. He's also a 6.73 runner with easy athletic outfield actions.
Parker Zimmerman
C - 2012 - Stillwater, OK
Wichita State
Zimmerman has outstanding arm strength behind the plate and a polished approach to receiving and handling a game. His right handed swing has plenty of bat speed and projects power in the future.
John Goss
MIF - 2012 - Bellaire, TX
Villanova
Goss is an athletic middle infielder with 6.84 speed and the actions and arm strength to stay in the middle infield at the next level. He shows flashes of solid bat speed at the plate with a quick line drive swing.
Hunter Haynes
LHP - 2012 - Mexico, MO
Missouri
Haynes was up to 84 mph from a left handed cross fire delivery but his fastball might have only been his third best pitch. His low 70's curveball has some serious sharpness and depth to it and his change up isn't far behind in quality.
Preston Warner
RHP - 2012 - Beaumont, TX
Uncommitted
The 6-3, 205 lb Warner throws in the mid 80's and has a good feel for spotting his fastball early in counts. His putaway pitch is a big and sharp breaking 74 mph slider and he also throws a 12/6 downer curveball.
Vincent Sorrentino
1B - 2012 - The Woodlands, TX
Uncommitted
Sorrentino gets notice right away for his 6-4, 235 lb build but he is a very agile defensive first baseman despite his size and his swing is short and compact as well. He may have as much potential on the mound as he does as a hitter, as he threw up to 85 mph with a nice curveball/change up combination.
Michael Levine
C - 2012 - Houston, TX
Richmond
Levine is a quick and athletic catcher who looks like a natural behind the plate with his shifting and receiving. He has very good arm strength that projects to get better and had a best pop time of 1.96.
David Parrett
C - 2012 - Edmond, OK
Iowa Western CC
Parrett is very similar to Michael Levine (above), with Levine having the slight edge in fundamentals both offensively and defensively. Parrett is an athletic receiver who popped 1.90 and the ball comes off his bat very hard when he squares it up.
Trey Marker
LHP - 2012 - Bixby, OK
Grayson County College
Marker is a young and loose 6-0 left hander who topped out at 84 mph with the promise of more to come. His change up was his best off speed pitch, with occasional plus sinking life, and he flashed some curveball potential.
Kylar Robertson
C - 2012 - Sand Springs, OK
Eastern Oklahoma State College
Trey Rodriguez
MIF - 2012 - Corpus Christi, TX
San Jacinto CC
Rodriguez has smooth and fluid actions in the middle infield but his best tool as a middle infielder may be his offensive potential. His 5-9, 175 lb frame packs plenty of strength and Rodriguez uses it well to generate bat speed with some gap power.
Robert Guthrie
OF - 2012 - Cypress, TX
Dallas Baptist
Guthrie has a nice all around set of tools and skills and could end up either in the outfield or at third base. His is a right handed hitter with good gap power at the plate and ran a 6.82 in the 60.
Trace Frick
MIF - 2012 - Sugar Land, TX
Hill College
The 5-9, 140 lb Frick has extremely smooth and easy middle infield actions and graded out as the top defensive infielder at the showcase. His swing fundamentals are solid and he should add more bat speed as he adds strength to his slender frame.
Eric Williams
OF - 2013 - Rowlett, TX
Grayson County College
Williams graded out as the top prospect at the South Underclass showcase regardless of class. He has a compact 5-10, 180 lb build that combines quickness and strength, especially arm strength and strength in his swing. Williams also throws up to 86 mph off the mound. On top of his tools, Williams impressed the PG scouts with his hustle and approach to the game.
Alex Phillips
RHP - 2013 - Nacogdoches, TX
Arkansas
Phillips doesn't look like a sophomore with his big 6-3, 200 lb build. He throws up to 86 mph now and projects to throw much harder down the road with his easy arm action and potential to add strength.
Travis Byrne
C - 2013 - Little Rock, AR
Central Arkansas
Byrne is an athletic catcher with some promise defensively but his best tool is his left handed bat. He has a very polished and balanced swing that shows some present bat speed that is going to increase significantly when he adds strength to his 145 lb frame.
James Swan
RHP - 2013 - Orange, TX
Texas
Swan is 6-5, 175 lbs with a strong athletic frame that should be able to handle strength easily. He throws up to 82 mph with minimal effort now and should steadily gain velocity for years. His curveball shows promise of being a solid second pitch.
Braxton Wilks
OF - 2013 - Sugar Land, TX
Kansas State
Wilks could develop better as either a left handed pitcher or as an outfielder, only time will tell. He has loose, athletic actions on both sides of the ball and very strong fundamentals.
