WWBA West Semi-Final Preview

16u Championship Semi-Finals Preview

In the second to last day of the WWBA 16U tournament, what started off as 40 teams is now four teams who’ve made their way into the final day, advancing further into the championships bracket. In the 16U event, the two matchups in the semi finals are GBG National 2026 vs. Swarm Red Elite National 2026 and CBA Victus San Diego vs. GBG Vegas 2026.  

Looking at each team individually, GBG National 2026 has an 8-2-0 record overall after winning six games in the event so far and are seeded at the top. Their top players so far are are the No.1 overall Arizona prospect Ryan Harwood, ASU commit Conner Russell, the fourth ranked pitcher in this event Austin Brett, St. Mary’s commit Cody Cappelletti, and top ranked Arizona catcher Jackson Weber.  



Their competitor is Swarm Red Elite National 2026 whose record sits at 16-2-1 overall with their six wins in this event so far and seeded as the fifth team. Players to watch for them are third ranked Arizona third baseman John "Jack" Petroff, third ranked right handed pitcher in Arizona, Brock Macdonald, fourth ranked Arizona shortstop Luis Mejia and pitcher TJ Drape.  

CBA Victus San Diego right now has a 6-0-0 record with all those wins being from this event and are the No. 3 seed. Looking at the top performers for them, the players to watch are in the bullpen. Second ranked pitcher in this event is Noah Villa and the third best is Caden Dockan. As far as batters go, there’s Ares Velarde, who is also a good pitcher, and Matthew Zacarias.  

Lastly, there’s seventh seeded GBG Vegas who is the only team who have lost a game in this event, giving them a 5-1-0 record. Nevertheless, they have a good amount of players to watch on the Top Performers list. Those include TCU commit and No.1 ranked prospect in Nevada Jake Turner, top ranked catcher in Nevada Brody Griffith, No.1 top performer pitching wise in Mickey Martinez, and No.1 ranked right handed pitcher Giovanni Guariglia Jr.  

15u Championship Semi-Finals Preview

With 34 teams going into the start of the WWBA 15U tournament, four teams have competed their way into the final rounds set for tomorrow. In the 15U event, the four teams in the semi finals are MVP Hustle Bryant 2027 vs. GBG Vegas 2027 and Canes West AZ vs. LVR.  

Starting with the top seeded team in the playoffs, MVP Hustle Bryant 2027 has five wins in this event to bring them to a 10-0-0 overall record this year. Looking at their team they have top batting performer Christian Fregoso, eighth ranked top batting performer John Sullivan, pitcher Justin Kim, hitter Landon Tuch, and pitcher Bronson Jackson.  

Then there’s fourth seeded GBG Vegas 2027 team who has a 5-0-1 record right now heading into the semi-finals. Players to watch on their team are second best top batting performer Santiago Williams, fifth best top batting performer Brayden Leavitt, third ranked Nevada short-stop Justin Rodrigues, top ranked catcher in Nevada Eddie Peterson, and top hitter and pitcher Gage Wiedmeyer.  

Coming in as the second seeded team, Canes West AZ has a 19-4-1 overall record after adding five wins from this event so far. Scanning their roster and the top performers list, there’s many athletes to look in the semis. There’s top ranked shortstop in New Mexico Jonah Utash, sixth ranked right handed pitcher in Arizona Maddox Wahlenmaier, top overall prospect in Arizona JJ Utash, top ranked third baseman in New Mexico Colton Floyd, fifth ranked catcher in Arizona Charlie Borchard, and third ranked catcher in Arizona Christopher Sinacori.  

Finally, there’s third seeded LVR Baseball. LVR Baseball has a 15-1-0 overall record with their six wins in this tournament. The two top performers on this team both pitching and hitting are Cash Martin, second ranked Arizona right handed pitcher, and Brayden Lenahan who is the fourth ranked right handed pitcher in Nevada. There’s also No.3 ranked outfielder in Nevada Dallon Cegavske, who is also their best hitter with a .406 average, and 0.78 ERA pitcher Randall Riley III.
