17u WWBA West Scout Notes: Days 1-2

Huge day on both sides of the ball today for Evans, dominant look on the mound as he went CG striking out 13 and chimed in on the offensive side driving in two of the 3 runs the Hooks put on the board with a two run home run.  A pitcher that rakes? Or an OF that also shoves?  Too early to tell…  Ran the fastball to 92, cruising around 88 often bumping up the velo when ahead of the count or for the punch out.  Showed feel for three pitch mix, using change up against left hand hitters and racking up many K’s on the breaking ball 73-76.  A physical kid at 6’4”/ 210 pounds, will be a fun follow to see where he ends up.
