Jake Shoemaker (2027, Round Rock, Texas) really impressed in the box for Test Black as he collected three loud barrels showing good impact to all fields. Shoemaker has one of the smoothest operations in the box you’ll see at this age. He controls the zone well with an advanced feel for the barrel. Sets up nicely in the box with a smooth lefty swing into contact with a firm front side. Showed a ton of feel to leverage and launch the ball but doesn’t over swing at all. Shoemaker went yard to pull, hit a triple to the gap, and flew out to the warning track. This is a big name to keep an eye on moving forward.
