Jr. National Arrives in Marietta

2024 Junior National Showcase: Rosters | Schedule 

As the center of the amateur baseball universe descends upon Field One of the East Cobb Complex, the very best in the Class of 2026 will battle it out to prove who belongs and who ultimately will get their name called for the second annual All Star Game at Chase Field, preceding the Perfect Game All-American Classic this upcoming August. 



Dating back to its inception in 2006, from which it has undergone a name change or two, the Junior National Showcase has played host to nearly 3,000 college commits and has seen 136 showcase alum make it to the big leagues including the likes of Bryce Harper, Francisco Lindor, Christian Yelich and Nolan Arenado, as well as the next wave of talent with names like Jackson Holliday and Wyatt Langford.

One of the unofficial kick offs to the summer, the Junior National Showcase is one that has long been circled on recruiting coordinator's calendars, as well as some professional teams, and rightfully so, especially as we take a deeper look into the talent that'll be on display in East Cobb this year. 

As of this writing, just under a week out from the start, 7 of the top 10 players are slated to be in attendance with more than half of the top 100 scattered throughout the rosters, a number that would surely be even higher if not for high school playoff action still being underway in several states and regions. Amongst those top 10 are the top 5 ranked players in the class, represented by No. 1 Grady Emerson (Argyle, Texas/TCU commit), No. 2 Brady Harris (St. Augustine, Fla./Florida commit), No. 3 Alex Harrington (San Diego, Calif./Stanford commit), No. 4 Jacob Lombard (Miami, Fla./Uncommitted) and No. 5 Keon Johnson (Macon, Ga./Uncommitted).

Even with high level rankings and college commitments across the board, Perfect Game National Scouting Director Vinnie Cervino had this to say when asked why the event is still so important: "the Junior National really sets the tone for how the class is going to look as a whole heading into the rest of the summer circuit season. It allows those top guys to show any development or adjustments they've made this off season but also gives the lesser knowns players that platform to show they belong and solidify themselves in the rankings."

Amongst the sea of talent that'll be rolling in throughout the five day event, broken into three different sessions, not only will the Junior National once again serve as a singular location of all the top talent, but also the first of two showcases where players can earn a roster spot at the 2024 All Star Game. "This allows players to separate themselves amongst their peers and establish their talent and belonging in the second annual All-Star Game" said Cervino, adding "seeing all the top 2026 talent in person at both the Junior [National] as well as the PG Underclass All-American Games later this summer really lets us see how each player stacks up against one another."

Whether a player comes looking for a national exposure or to be put in front of college recruiters across the country, a trip to Marietta, Georgia will do just that as all the action will be live streamed on PerfectGame.TV, from workouts to live in game action, as well as social media coverage across all of Perfect Game's platforms.
