Broward Bengals On The Prowl

Broward Bengals Claw Their Way To Shut Out CBU Force

The Broward Bengals are on the prowl for the championship after shutting out CBU Force 8-0.

From the beginning, both teams exhibited ferocious defense with no runs scored in the first inning. However, the Bengals roared back with power, taking advantage of a few miscues from CBU Force and struck up a 6-0 lead at the bottom of the 2nd.

A single by pitcher Weylen Rodriguez kicked off the scoring and he was followed by a double by right-field Dillon "Kuku" Diaz, bringing home another 2 runs.

“I just wanted to step up there and get my timing right with the pitcher,” said Rodriguez on what his mindset was when he came to the plate.

The Broward Bengals showcased incredible depth offensively. Second baseman Mauricio Clement electrified the game with a barreled double, driving in another two runs, while Andres Hernandez and Rodriguez both drove in two apiece.

Despite CBU’s defense and their handy leather work, the Bengals' victory was driven by their stellar pitching and seamless defensive communication. Pitcher Dayan Viciedo led the way, throwing 46 pitches while picking up three strikeouts in 2.1 innings.

While the Bengals' pitching staff was able to induce early contact and more than a couple 1-2-3 innings, the game was a defensive masterclass which helped lead to their victory.

Starting off this weekend strong, the Bengals are on the hunt for a championship win.
