UBC West: Org. Points Breakdown

Thank you to all of the organizations that attended the PG Ultimate Baseball Challenge-West!

Pictured below is the final score for each age group, as well as, the overall score for each organization. All 12 organizations competed across the 4 age groups, earning points based on their performances this past weekend. 






BPA
BPA ended the event with 41 total points of the weekend scoring 11 in 14U, 15 in 15U, four in 16U, and 11 17U, making them the top performing team in the event. In the 15U bracket, this team came in as the fourth seed after finishing their pool play with a record of 2-1 and won both their games in the semifinals and championship to take the crown in this age group, defeating Canes West National 2027 9-1 and Trosky National 2027 9-3 on the final day. With a star powered lineup, Zion Martinez stood out and walked away with an MVP award hitting .438 on the weekend and pitching one inning with one hit and two strikeouts.

Alpha Prime
Alpha Prime came in second overall with a score of 31 points. By age group they scored 14 points in 14U, 4 in 15U, 11 in 16U, and 2 in 17U. With a score of 14 in the youngest age group, Alpha Prime came out on top in that bracket as the second seed, victorious over Baum Bat NW 9-1 in the semifinals and BPA in the championship 8-4 to go undefeated on the weekend. Three players on this team that made it into the Top Performers list for 14U; Jack Carpenter in first place batting wise with three runs, eight hits, and nine RBI and Mason Harris came in third for batting and and second for pitching with three runs, six hits, and 5 RBI in the box and 22 outs in 7 innings with 8 strikeouts. Coming in fourth for pitching was Riley Salvemini who has 25 outs in 8 innings with 4 punch outs.

Hawaii Elite 2G National
Hawaii Elite 2G National took third place in this event scoring 30 points consisting of 8 in 14U, 2 in 15U, 6 in 16U, and 14 in 17U. Even though they didn’t win a championship in any of the age group, they still finished as the fourth seed in 14U and advanced to the championship game as the second seed in 17U. Looking at their top performances all around, they have eight scattered around across the four different age divisions.

Baum Bat NW
Baum Bat NW came in fourth place also with 30 points with 9 in 14U, 2 in 15U, 2 in 16U, and 17 in 17U. Ironically, this organization won the 17U division with those 17 points, beating BPA 5-1 and Hawaii Elite 2G National with a massive score of 10-1 as the top seed to earn their championship title. In that final game, Greyson Osbun tossed a six inning complete game, surrendering just three hits and one run while picking up seven strikeouts which earned him the MVPitcher award with a 1.20 ERA. With such dominance in this age group, this team ended with four players in the top five for batting top performers and two in the top five for the top pitchers, including Jonah Aase, a University of Washington commit, who earned the MVP award in his group going 7 innings while allowing just one hit while collecting 12 strikeouts and hitting .462 in 12 at-bats.

GBG
Finally, Garciaparra Baseball Group took the final spot in the top five scoring 29 points. This team scored four points in 14U, 9 in 15U, 10 in 16U, and 14 in 17U. GBG didn’t leave Irvine with a championship but they still managed to make it to the semifinals for both the 15U and 16U age group as the second and fourth seed, showing their organizational depth. Some of their top players in this event were top 14U pitcher Brayden Krakowski who went seven innings with two hits and nine strikeouts, J. Beckett Berg (4th at the 15u division) who pitched 7.1 innings and four hits with seven punch outs and Aiden Aguayo (No. 6 in 17u) as a stick who hit.375.
