Sunday Recap: Michigan salvages Game 3

After a few weeks of relative inactivity the rankings finally saw a significant shake up – especially in the top 10 – this week. Only one new team, South Carolina, has been introduced to the Top 25, doing so after sweeping previously 17th-ranked Arkansas at home to move to 20-2 on the season. However, only the No. 1-ranked Florida Gators remain in the same spot they were a week ago.

Vanderbilt dropped five spots and are now ranked seventh after losing their weekend series to Mississippi State. Texas A&M reclaims the top spot, followed by Oregon State, who swept Arizona State.

Miami may have had the biggest weekend, taking two of three at home from Louisville including Friday's dramatic walkoff win in which Willie Abreu (who already had a home run and three RBI) hit game-ending grand slam in extra innings. Michael Mediavilla follow that up with yet another stellar seven inning performance on the mound on Saturday to move to 4-0 on the year.

Louisville now has dropped three straight significant series dating back to last year in their Super Regional loss to Cal State Fullerton, losing to Ole Miss (in Oxford) during week two of this year and now losing to Miami (again on the road).

In addition to Miami's jump in the rankings both TCU and North Carolina – who were both undefeated this past week and swept solid weekend opponents in West Virginia and Duke respectively – took advantage of both Louisville and Vanderbilt losing their weekend series.

Tune in to Perfect Game College Baseball from 9-11 p.m. EST on SiriusXM College Sports Nation, channel 84. Perfect Game's Daron Sutton and Mike Rooney will wrap up the weekend while taking a look at the week ahead.
