Alton Davis (2022 Hueytown, Ala.) was outstanding in his pool play start for the Excel Blue waves. The lefthanded Alabama commit tossed three scoreless innings allowing no runs, on no hits with eight punch outs. After working himself into a bases loaded jam in the first, he retired the next three batters with strike outs as he commanded his fastball to both sides of the plate. His fastball proved to be just too much as he blew it by hitters in the upper 80's and topped out at 90 mph. Davis continues to be a fun prospect to follow with his long lean frame and live arm.
