Xavier Cardenas III (2022, La Habra, Calif.) showed a lot to like on the mound. The frame is projectable with plenty of room to add more strength. He utilized a low-effort delivery with a long, loose arm action. The fastball topped at 93 mph, while sitting 88-91 mph most of the day. He paired it with a fading changeup in the mid-70s that can generate whiffs with arm speed deception. He also mixed up a curveball at 69-72 mph. It featured tight, 1-7 action when thrown well. The consistency of the shape is still a work in progress. Cardenas struggled with his overall command, needing to throw more strikes, but still managed to compete due to his pitchability. There is plenty of projectability left for the right-hander who already has an impressive three-pitch mix.

Grant Govel (2023, Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.) was impressive out of the 'pen. He features an athletic delivery down the mound with above-average arm speed. The fastball sat 87-91 mph. It got on hitters quickly due to the arm speed. The offering generated whiffs often when elevated in the zone. He paired it with a nasty slider at 76-78 mph. It is spun extremely well with tilt and bite. The offering generates whiffs as well. The athleticism and pitch mix has the ability to consistently miss bats.
