15u WWBA East Scout Notes: Days 1-2

Dicky Iverson Gonzales Ayala (2025, Toa Baja, P.R.) is a lockdown defender at short for the Puerto Rico Mets. He has good twitch in his actions as he goes in each direction. His ability to get around the baseball with his feet in a good position to come through the baseball are in part what make him such a smooth infielder. Once he has the ball he shows off a strong arm that will continue to play on the left side of the infield as he gets older. With the bat he has a calm confident approach with good rhythm and timing to the swing. He will produce more power as he continues to mature and fill out physically.
 
Locking down the other half of the left side for the Puerto Rico Mets was Gabriel Viera (2023, Toa Alta, P.R.). Viera has started at third base in each of the games so far and has been spectacular with the glove. H has made every play that has come his way and does a nice job reading the hops to get himself in a good position to field the ball with his momentum carrying toward first base. His right-handed swing is as fluid as his glove action with plenty of intent and the ability to get to the fastball up, getting on top of the ball and hitting hard line drives.
