What Happened: The Red Raiders came into Phoenix ranked as the No. 3 in the country with an overall record of 24-6. Unfortunately none of that mattered against the GCU. A three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning was the start to what would be a long two-game set for Tech. The Lopes continued to make things tough on the pitching staff throughout game one, ultimately winning 9-4. Game 2 did not go much better. GCU jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. The Red Raiders put up a fight in the ninth inning, but the comeback ultimately came up short with an 8-7 loss. Things could not have gone worse from start to finish for Tech. The Red Raiders will look to quickly flush this and get back to their winning ways.
