Top Tier 2026 jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, but Omaha Tigers 14U Black came roaring back, scoring seven unanswered runs to secure the victory. Brooks McCarty (2026, Orange City, Iowa) got the start for the Tigers, and he did not disappoint, turning in a quality performance. He tossed five innings, striking out six opposing batters and scattering just three hits and two walks. He ran his fastball up to 79 mph from the left side, and it displayed natural cutting action, which proved to be tough to barrel up. The left-hander also mixed in a curveball from time-to-time, which offered a nice change of pace at 69 mph. McCarty utilizes a short and compact arm action, and he has a high-waisted, 5-foot-9 frame with plenty of room to fill moving forward.
