Field of 64 Projection

Vincent Cervino      Craig Cozart
After one of the most exciting and unpredictable seasons in recent memory, we are ready to announce our projected “Field of 64”. The bubble wasn’t terribly upset as there were only a couple stolen bids and many of the blue bloods ran the table at the Power-5 level. The Tennessee Volunteers are our No. 1 National Seed after winning a share of the SEC regular season championship and taking home the SEC tournament title as well. As a conference, the SEC once again leads the nation landing (11) bids. The ACC was the second most represented league with North Carolina coming in at the No. 3 national seed, the highest seed of their (8) clubs in the field. The wild Big 12 came in with (6) bids and regular season Oklahoma gives them national seed representation at No. 7 overall. Non-Power 5 leagues will make a strong showing in the field this year and No. 11 seed UC Santa Barbara and No. 16 East Carolina will get to play the first round at their home parks. Looking at the field as a whole, the 2-seeds look impressively strong and it wouldn’t be surprising to see multiple upsets in regions across the nation.
