Summer ball continues to bring the heat (literally) in Southwest Florida this weekend with the 2024 BCS Qualifier from May 31-June 3.

15U, 16U and 18U teams will be battling it out on the fields at various different high schools and MLB spring training backfields used by the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins.

Among the numerous captivating athletes to watch this weekend, left-handed pitcher Gabriel Norman emerges as the foremost player, currently the No. 6 ranked left-handed pitcher in the class of 2027. Norman, who has been up to 89 mph, will be playing with the Atlanta Braves Scout Team 16U alongside his teammate, nationally ranked shortstop William Cutshall

Norman and Cutshall will brave the field to take on catcher Brody Marks who is playing with 5 Star Tampa. Marks is nationally ranked No. 408 overall in the class of 2027.

Catch the fascinating matchup at 12:30 p.m on Saturday at Red Sox 3 at JetBlue Park.

These talented athletes aren’t the only ones to look out for this weekend. Shortstop and Miami commit Mario Magana will be playing with Wahoos National. As the No. 55 overall player in the class of 2025, Magana is not to be missed. The Wahoos National will take on the Fort Myers Vipers starting at 6:00 p.m on Friday May 31 at South High School.

Keep your eye in the sky for right-handed pitcher and Florida Gulf Coast commit Julian Pitts and right-handed pitcher and Alabama State commit Kaniel Rosado playing with the Florida Blue Jays Scout team as they are both flying up the national rank. Pitts is ranked No. 42 and Rosado is ranked No. 45 right-handed pitcher for the class of 2025. You won’t want to miss fastballs ranging from 90-95 mph to try to match the sting of the Scorpions South Florida 2025 team.

Don’t strike out and miss this matchup! The game will take place at 10:15 a.m on Saturday June 1 at Twins 3 at Lee Health Sports Complex.
