Coastal Weekend Recap: Scout Notes

WWBA Pre-Freshman Coastal Summer Championship

Jordan Blackmon (2028, Lumberton, NC) took full control on the mound for the SBA Prospects 14U in their matchup versus the 5 Star Heat Harrington 14U. The 5-foot-6, 129-pound, left-handed pitcher has an athletic lean frame. He is a fundamentally sound pitcher with simplistic mechanics that are repeatable every pitch. He fills up the strike zone efficiently and consistently produced weak contact. Jordan throws from a 3-quarter arm slot with a medium arm action. The ball comes out of his hand cleanly at 68-mph with pinpoint accuracy. He would sequence in a 57-mph curveball that would produce swing and misses at a high rate as his curveball creating exceptional depth to it. During this matchup Blackmon went 6 innings on the mound allowing 5 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, while collecting 7 strikeouts.
