Abraham Howard (2027, Richmond, Ku.) was a standout at the plate at week for Canes Midwest all week, but it would be hard to argue that his biggest contribution didn’t come on the mound where he was outstanding. The young right hander was given the ball in the round of 32 as his team faced off with a stingy Devine Baseball group in a well played game on both sides. Howard was more than up to the task though as he turned in a seven inning shutout performance in what ended up being a 2-0 game. He was able to keep hitters off balance with a steady diet of fastballs and breaking balls as he cruised to seven strikeouts while allowing just five base runners. The fastball
