Aaron Jaquez (2026, Peyton, Colo.) looked great in his start in game one of the tournament for Slammers Anderson 2026’s. The tall and physical 6-foot-4, 205-pound right-hander sat in the 87-90 range and garnered 11 whiffs on the heater alone. Most of the swing-and-miss came at the top of the zone. The fastball gets downhill life when down in the zone and holds plane well when up. Jaquez flashed a short slider at 78-81 but relied heavily on the hard stuff. The uncommitted righty punched out six over three innings, filling up the zone with 70% strikes.
